A friend of mine who hails from Imo state and has no interest in the politics of Imo state called last week to shower praises on HE Hope Uzodimma for the beautiful work he had been doing quietly in Imo state. In his words ” If Hope continues with this meticulous approach to governance, Imo state will outpace all other southern states in development ”
A popular saying in Imo state is that Ndi Imo are hopeful with Hope and this isn’t far from the truth. Since January 15, 2020 that the Governor was sworn in after the Supreme Court as required by law and good conscience rectified the electoral injustice done to him, Hope has been a man on a mission in hurry to reconstruct Imo state, restore it to the path of progress and recover its lost respect within comity of States.
Within 7 months, Hope Uzodimma has constructed more than 10 roads across the state. No Governor of the state in recent time has this record. He has also within his first four months ended the perennial flooding in Owerri by dredging Lake Nwaebere a simple solution as it may seem, many before him never thought possible. To his credit he has also resuscitated the Otamiri Water Project abandoned for over two decades. The Adapalm Oil Plantation with the capacity to employ over 10,000 Imolites, alongside the Statesman Newspaper have all gotten breathe of fresh air, thanks to Hope Uzodimma, the man on a mission.
To Improve Security in the state and being a lover of the Igbo economy, Hope Uzodimma bought over 100 Patrol Vehicles from Innoson Motors, an indigenous company owned by the great Igbo Son, Innocent Chukwuma. At the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic he bought 27 Ambulances from Innoson Vehicle to keep Ndi Imo safe from the tricky virus.
Just last month, the Governor launched the Imo state Mobile Clinic to bring free medical care closer to the people and ensure all Imolites have access to free primary healthcare. Hope Uzodimma is a man passionate about his people and their well being.
The Civil service isn’t left out. On assumption to Office he immediately began the renovation of the Civil Service Secretariat to provide a conducive environment for those on whose shoulder the state run on. Today, pipe borne water now run in the Secretariat and a standby Generator has been provided to ensure the Secretariat isn’t out of energy. This was never the case till Hope came.
Just last three weeks, the Governor unveiled brand new coaster buses to transport the workers safely to their destination to and fro the Secretariat. Only a man who understands the enormous role the civil service play can make this possible
Anambra Progressives Media is proud of Gov. Hope Uzodimma and what he has achieved so far within 10 months. We make bold to say that no Governor in Imo state in recent time can boast of such achievements within 10 months, anyone who feels otherwise should provide evidence of anyone who has.
We know that the wreckage in Imo state is enormous and the Imo people quickly want a new Imo with outstanding infrastructure. Sadly, this can’t be done with a fiat and despite how quickly HE wants to clean up Imo State he can’t do so in a day. The process has begun and the 10 months has been worth it. Despite not having a budget of his own he has done well and by 2021 when he will have time to draft his own budget, Imo state will become more prosperous.
