President Bola Tinubu is currently in a meeting with Nyesom
Wike, former governor of Rivers state, and Godswill Akpabio, a former minister
of Niger Delta affairs.

The meeting is also being attended by David Umahi, former
governor of Ebonyi state,  at the state
house.

Last week, Wike met the president in the company of James
Ibori, a former governor of Delta, and Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo state.

The agenda of the meeting is not yet known.

However, the composition of the national assembly leadership
has been the issue on the front burner since Tinubu was inaugurated as
president last week.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) nominated Akpabio and
Barau Jibrin, senator representing Kano north, as senate president and deputy
respectively.

In the lower legislative chamber, the party nominated
Tajudeen Abbas, a lawmaker from Kaduna, and Benjamin Kalu, lawmaker from Imo,
as speaker and deputy.

The decision did not go down well with some APC
lawmakers-elect who are nursing ambitions to become presiding officers in the
10th national assembly.
