Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo releases date for the finals of the 7th edition of grassroot boxing talent hunt competition
Team Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo has released Date for state finals of 7th Edition of Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly grass root Boxing Talent Hunt exercise Competition.
Team Ikechukwu Okoronkwo had in 2023 conducted Grass root Boxing talent hunt in the 17 LGA,s of Enugu state which gave rise to unvieling of Boxing Trophies on 6th May 2024 at Parliament Hall PPSMB by Rt Hon Uche Ugwu. The Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, whom in the occasion handed over the trophies to the Host Rev Fr Hilary C Mgbodile (Phd), the Chairman of Post primary School Management Board (PPSMB) for conclusion of boxing state finals.
In line with the plans after stakeholders meeting and Action Committee on Sports Literacy meeting, 11th – 17th June 2024 has been fixed for state finals of 7th Edition of Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly boxing competition.
According to Owo Francisca who is the Sports Director PPSMB Headquarters Enugu State, the state finals of the event will be an opportunity for Hon Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development Enugu State Barr llord Ikechukwu Ekweremmadu and his team to come and select Boxers that will represent Enugu State, for 2024 National under 15 youth games, scheduled to hold in Asaba by September 2024.
Also Stephen Ozor Ikechukwu who is the special adviser to Hon Speaker and Secretary of Action committee on Sports Literacy said that the state finals dates of this 7th Edition were fixed during mid-term break of the students, so that the selected students will not loose out on any of the lessons in classroom.
