Nigeria @ 61, Gombe @ 25: Let Us All Work Together For Peace, Progress Development- Hon Victor Mela

“We gather to congratulate ourselves on Nigeria’s 61st anniversary of independence and the 25th anniversary of the creation of Gombe State. We must remember that our country is neither perfect nor stable, and that restoring its former greatness will require our selfless efforts for long-term development. The first step is to be proud to be Nigerian and to work hard to improve things.

Similarly, we must keep our minds open, allow our faith to shine through our actions and words, and be proud of our Nigeria!!!

In the same vein, I would like to congratulate our beloved State on reaching the silver jubilee mark. I applaud the vision of the State’s founding fathers, as well as the patriotism, commitment, and uncommon determination of our past and present leaders in advancing the State’s accelerated growth and development.

Let us appreciate one another and maintain our common brotherhood, religious tolerance, and do everything we can to make the world a better place for all of us.

On the occasion of the country’s and state’s birthdays, let us raise our hats in salute. Happy Independence Day and Gombe State’s 25th Anniversary!”
