Oluwo Of Iwo: How I Was Banished From Iwoland To Die In Exile

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, has revealed that he was banished from Iwoland at the age of 14 due to a “diabolic” occurrence that happened to him.
Akanbi revealed this on Saturday during a live Instagram interview with Dele Momodu, which was monitored by THE WHISTLER.

The controversial Yoruba monarch revealed that when his mother gave birth to him, it was discovered in the spiritual realm that he was a star and was going to become the king of Iwo in future.

Oba Akanbi, however, said an occurrence that nearly ruined his star took place in July 1981.
He said, “There was an occurrence that changed my life in 1981. That occurrence occurred in a diabolic way that they needed to send me out of Iwoland to go and die.
“Someone did something to me [diabolically] that I should go and never comeback.

“I went to Lagos. I wrote a suicide note that whoever did that to me would meet his waterloo,” he said.
Oba Akanbi said during his banishment, he was kidnapped twice by ritualists.

“I was kidnapped twice by ritualists. During the second attempt, they couldn’t kill me. They saw my star that I was a king and they asked that I should be taken back. I was dumped at Lawanson [in Lagos]. A family friend found me on the street and returned me home.”
