On the 1/2/2020 at about 9:30am, one Onyedika Nwankwo ‘m’ of Umueneche Villa Awka reported at Central Police Station Awka that on the 31/1/2020 he perceived an unusual odour oozing out from one of the rooms in his yard upstairs and traced it to the room of one Ignatius Anaekweze ‘m’, aged about 70 years of same address and also a Co-tenant in the house which prompted him to call on neighbours who assisted to open the door whereupon they saw the decomposing body in the room.

  1. Police detectives from CPS Awka led by the DPO visited the scene and confirmed the incident.
  2. Photograph taken and corpse deposited at Amaku hospital mortuary for autopsy. No implement of violence seen or observed and no foul play suspected from a critical analysis of the crime scene.
