Police Rescue 2 Murder Suspects From A Lynch Mob In Anambra State

Police Operatives in Anambra State Command have rescue two murder suspects , accused of ritual killings , about to lynched by an angry mob at the total junction, ihiala, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
It was revealed that the suspects , a male and a female which were seen in a video been circulated on a social media were accused of killed two persons for money rituals and they were been paraded naked by an angry youths in that community.
In a press release through the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Toochukwu , said from the records, the matter is not a case of ritual killing but a pure incident of murder.
DSP Ikenga also said that prreliminary information reveals that the two victims a man and a woman who were humiliated and paraded as shown in the video by the angry mob were erroneously accused by the mob as they were seen at the scene where the murder took place.
Ikenga also said that both the suspect and victims are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. While the deceased has been deposited in a morgue
Reacting on that incident , the Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Echeng Echeng , as calling for calm and have ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for a comprehensive investigation.
