Mr Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendant Olawale Bakare have pleaded not guilty to a two-count amended charge levelled against them.

Below are updates of proceeds from the court.


10:13 – The case has been adjourned to the 11th, 12th and 13th of March for definite trial.


10:03 – Abdul Mahmud insists that since the prosecutor has his evidence on tape, he wants him to provide the tape to be played in the open court but the prosecutor says he will need 2 weeks to provide a DVD player to present the evidence.


9:58 – Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu rules that the trial must go on as the defence team is at liberty to ask any question at any time.

9:52 – Abdul Mahmud informs the court that what the Prosecutor served on them is the summary statement of the 4 witnesses but insists on being served with the full statements.


9:48 – Earlier on, the Prosecutor informed the court that the FG has complied with the order of the court over the payment of N200,000 as a cost to the defendants.


9:47 – The Prosecutor, Kayode Alilu announces preparedness to proceed with the trial but the defence team led by Abdul Mahmud objects to the commencement of the trial on the ground that the statement of witnesses is yet to be served on them.

9:41 – Sowore and Bakare on Thursday pleaded not guilty to a 2 count charge of conspiracy to commit treasonable felony and treasonable felony.
