The use of Marijuana while pregnant may increase the risk that a child will develop autism, new research finds.
Researchers found that women who used cannabis during pregnancy were 1.5 times more likely to have a child with autism, according to Dr. Darine El-Chaâr, author of the study.
The findings come as weed becomes more socially acceptable and legal in many states in the U.S., worrying health care researchers that moms-to-be might think it’s fine to use it recreationally or to treat morning sickness.
