NCDC announces three additional COVID-19 related deaths, 513 new cases
Fourteen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have announced 513 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to figures released on Wednesday morning by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,(NCDC).
The NCDC added that the 513 new cases, bring the total number of infections in the country to 202,704.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the additional 513 COVID-19 infections, on Tuesday indicates an increase from the 393 cases reported on Monday.
It added that lagos state led the chat with 132 news cases, higher than the 86 cases it recorded the previous day.….

Declaration of South East as red zone inimical to dev., says Umahi
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi has expressed the fear that the declaration of the South-East as a red zone due to the spate of insecurity will deprive the area of federal projects.
Umahi made the remark on Tuesday in Abakaliki while inaugurating the new leadership of the South-East Traditional Rulers Council, headed by Eze Charles Mkpuma, the Chairman of the council in Ebonyi.
He said that Federal Government’s ministries recently declared the southeast as a red zone because of the high wave of insecurity in the area….

The Director-General of Micheal Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin Comrade Issa Aremu has appealed to the striking National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to obey the ruling of the National Industrial Court (NIC) ordering its members to return to work and negotiate outstanding issues of disputes through social dialogue with the relevant health authorities.

THE University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, UATH, has exonerated itself of alleged complicity in the death of former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Dr Obadiah Mailafia.
The hospital said those accusing it of having hands in the death of the foremost activist were not sincere, insisting that it did its best to save his life.
The acting Public Relations Officer of UATH, Michael Atiga, speaking on Mallafia’s death and allegations that trailed it, wondered how the hospital could be fingered for being responsible when its medical personnel did everything necessary to revive him.
According to him, the exceptional performances of medical personnel in Mailafia’s case earned them verbal accolade from the deceased wife, who he noted, was around the husband…..
