JUSTICE Christopher Balogun of an Ikeja High Court in Lagos on Monday gave an insight about why he gave an order that the corpse of Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (retd) should not be released to his family for burial.
The deceased was a military administrator of Lagos and Imo states.
Justice Balogun had on October 7 given an order that the Nigerian Navy should not release the body of the ex-Lagos military administrator until otherwise directed by the court…

The Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu-Uche, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to grant amnesty to the detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, and Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a. Igboho, to end the clamour for self-determination in the South.
Kanu-Uche, who spoke to journalists in Abuja yesterday, said many prominent people in the country had the listening ears of the agitators, adding that the government could use them to dialogue with the separatists. “He also suggested that the Federal Government pay N25,000 monthly stipend to repentant bandits and Boko Haram members, saying hunger and poverty drove many to embrace terror and banditry.….

Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe and Chairman, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) performed the ceremony on Monday in Abuja.

The House of Representatives will, in a few days, consider a proposed law to set up a Special Commission to prosecute electoral offences arising from next elections.
The bill exclusively obtained by Vanguard, is entitled “Electoral Offences Commission and Tribunal Bill, 2021”.
The bill, sponsored by Kingsley Chinda(PDP-Rivers), in a proposed Part 3, states in part that “The Commission shall investigate, enforce and prosecute all electoral malpractices and electoral offences created under the Constitution, Electoral Act any other law.
“Advice the electoral entities of any change in practices, systems or procedures compatible with the effective discharge of the duties of electoral entities as the commission thinks fit to reduce the likelihood or incidence of electoral and related offences; adopt measures to identify, trace and prosecute thuggery, electoral fraud, political terrorism and related offences.”….
