The National Working Committee of APGA is sharply divided over the order from the cabal that Hon Chukwuma Umeoji must be disqualified from contesting the June 23 Governorship primaries of APGA.
Oye was ordered to disqualify Umeoji through the screening Committee. According to the APGA election guidelines, the screening would hold on June 10, while appeals arising from the screening will hold on June 12.
What this means is that the screening Committee will sit on the June 10, and screen all the Aspirants. They are expected to submit their report immediately to the NWC and which will make it public so that Aspirants affected by the outcome of the screening could file an objection to appeal committee.
The appeal Committee according to the APGA timetable is expected to sit tomorrow. But up till now the report of the screening Committee is yet to be made public.
AIF Media was reliably told that the disqualification of Hon Umeoji as directed by the cabal divided the NWC. Oye couldn’t get the required 2/3 majority of the NWC to approve the disqualification.
Despite the huge sums of money dangling before the members of the NWC, many of them have refused to toe the line of disqualification. They argued that such decision will destroy APGA and cause the same chaos that caused the party the Imo Governorship election in 2019.
They have told Oye to allow all aspirants to go to field and try their luck.
One of the members of the NWC wondered why Umeoji, a house of reps member will be disqualified. He believed that such approached used in 2013 is no longer fashionable.
Earlier today, U-AYA media team having been told that the screening Committee had disqualified Umeoji came to the social media to subtly appeal to the people that party is Supreme and that whatever decision turned out by the screening Committee should be accepted so that the party can move on.
While they were waiting for the NWC to approve the report of the screening Committee and uphold the disqualification of Umeoji, Oye who is now executing their hatchet job failed to get the 2/3 majority of the NWC members to complete their plot.
We don’t know what may happen this night, since the appeal Committee ought to sit tomorrow, but the ward congress to elect the adhoc delegates scheduled for June 15 can not go on except the NWC accepts the report of the both screening Committee and that of appeal arising from the resolutions are adopted.
This is far the cabal is going to destroy APGA.
In 2010, PDP cabal imposed Prof Soludo on the party and that was the beginning of the major problem that destoryed PDP Anambra state.
Today, APGA wants to take the same route and impose Soludo again.
We shall be here to analyse the outcome. Goodluck to Oye. He has refused to learn from the ugly experience of 2019 especially the Imo example.
