Anambra Police Recover Body of Gunshot Victim, Seek Public Help For Identification

Ozubulu, Anambra StateThe Anambra State Police Command has launched an investigation following the recovery of the lifeless body of an unidentified young man along the Onitsha-Owerri Express Road in the early hours of January 23, 2025.

According to press release from SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public relations officer, Anambra State Command , stated that Police operatives from the Ozubulu Divisional Headquarters responded swiftly to a distress call reporting the tragic incident. Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach, suspected to have been inflicted by armed men who abandoned his body before fleeing.

The Command is appealing to members of the public for assistance in identifying the deceased and providing any information that could aid the ongoing investigation.

SP Ikenga also said that the body of the victim has been deposited at a morgue, and updates on the case will be communicated as developments arise.

SP Ikenga, has reiterated the commitment of the Anambra State Police Command to bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety of all residents.
