By 2023 the north would have concluded its 8 year tenure and power is excepted to return to south. In the south, the southwest through Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has had their turn. The south-south had Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for 6 years.
Naturally, it is the turn of Ndigbo in 2023. It is expected that PDP, APC and all other political parties will cede their presidential tickets to Ndigbo.
To this end, a group known as OUK FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL has emerged. It is a group of like minds that are drumming support for Senator Orji Uzo Kalu to join the 2023 presidential race.
The Chairman of the group, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, member representing Bende North constituency said the time for Igbo Presidency has come. According to the lawmaker, the group shares the same views and aspirations, maintaining that it is time for an Igbo President which he believes Senator Kalu represents.
Hon Chukwu insisted that Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip has the network and audacity to emerge the country’s President come 2023.
According to Chukwu, OUK Friends International will begin to make efforts to have a national presence in the coming days. Membership of the group according to him is drawn from various political parties and open for anyone who may share in its vision.
The leader of the group said the new group has achieved a lot in the few weeks it has existed, maintaining that it is resolved to push the vision. He called on the people of the South East region and Nigerians in general to lend their support to Kalu.
