Obaseki swears in new Permanent Secretary, SUBEB chief
Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo has sworn in Prof. Faith Osadalor as the new Solicitor-General /Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice.
Also sworn in on Tuesday in Benin by the governor was Mrs Ozavize Salami as the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB)
The governor said the appointment had shown the direction of the government in terms of quality and calibre of personnel that had been running the affairs of the state’s public service….

Anambra Assembly passes anti-open grazing bill
The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed the anti-open grazing bill.
The Bill entitled: “Anambra State Open Grazing of Cattle and other Livestock Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Bill 2021″, was passed after third reading at the plenary on Tuesday.
The lawmakers, at the Committee of the Whole House, took turns to scrutinise the 39-Clause Executive Bill before its passage.
The Speaker, Mr Uche Okafor, conducted a voice vote on each of the clauses of the bill before its passage by the assembly….

Expert states why Naira can’t be devalued now
….As Osinbajo doubles down on forex reforms
Against the backdrop of the controversies generated from the call for market reflective exchange rate by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, a former executive director, international operations at a first generation bank, has listed structural economic issues as key reason why Naira has been under pressure of devaluation.
Meanwhile, Osinbajo has said he did not call for devaluation of the Naira, contrary to some media reports, explaining that his position was for a foreign exchange management regime that is market determined.
Osinbajo, through a statement signed by Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Office of the Vice President, reinforced his position saying that under the current foreign exchange regime privileged individuals and firms are taking advantage of the wide parallel market premium to rip off the country’s foreign reserves….
