Court stops luxury buses operations in Kano.

A Kano Chief Magistrate Court on Wednesday restrained Luxury Bus owners from operating at New Road, Sabo Geri and anywhere in the state pending the hearing of a motion on notice.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Rakiya Lami Sani said the restraining order followed an exparte application filed by Counsel to Kano Roads and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), Barrister Mutawakkil Isaq Muhammad suspending the operations of 15 luxury bus owners.
The Court ordered the commissioner of police to seal off the luxury buses motor park located at New Road in Sabo Geri and any other terminals of the defendants.
Solacebase reports that defendants in the suit are, Service Tarzan Motors, Best Way Motors, Landstar Express, Delta Express, Welfare Transport,G.U.O Motors, F.G Onyewe Motors and Godbless EzenwantaMotors.
Others are Young Shall Grow Motors, Ifeanyi Chukwu Motors, Bonnyway Motors,Chimeze Motors, Gobison Motors, S D. Express and First Tarzan Motors.
Chief Magistrate, Rakiya Lami Sani then adjourned the matter to September 14th, to hear the motion on notice.
KAROTA had earlier directed the Luxurious bus owners to relocate from the Sabon Gari Park to Ungwua-Uku Motor park, but the Luxurious bus association refused to comply with the directives.
A statement issued by KAROTA Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa the Managing Director of the Agency Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, warned that any Luxurious Bus owner who violates the court order will have himself to blame.
‘’He said, despite not obtaining permit to operate in the state, the agency allowed the bus owners to relocate to the new park to continue their businesses but they decided to disobey the agency’s order which necessitated the legal move to avoid further crisis, ‘’said the statement.
