As part of the efforts geared towards curtailing the covid-19 scourge, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) yesterday started the decontamination and disinfection of the new terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja against the corona virus pandemic.
The exercise is embarked on barely a week the Lagos International airport was disinfected.
The Authority had earlier made known that the closure of the 4 major airports in the country due to the pandemic would afford them the opportunity to ensure any traces of the virus is eradicated.
According the aviation agency, the Abuja airport decontamination and disinfection would be followed by fumigation against pest and rodents. The Mallam Aminu Kano International airport, Kano and the Port-Harcourt International airport are also expected to be disinfected soon.
